Walker-Warburg Syndrome is also known as HARD +/-E Syndrome, which is an acronym for (H)ydrocephalus, (A)gyria, (R)etinal (D)ysplasia and, in some cases, (E)ncephalocele. The most consistent features of this disorder are a lack of normal folds of the brain (lissencephaly), malformations of the back portion of the brain (cerebellum), abnormalities of the retina of the eye, and progressive degeneration and weakness of the voluntary muscles (congenital muscular dystrophy).
